Former Essendon captain Jobe Watson is expecting a third child later this year, with partner Virginia Slaghekke revealing the news on social media this week.
The couple, who met in 2016, unveiled the pregnancy on Instagram, with Slaghekke telling her 651 Instagram followers: “So excited to be completing our family early August”.

Watson and Slaghekke already have two children together – three-year-old daughter Juniper Hendricks Watson, who was born in September 2018, and one-year-old son Wolf Odin Watson.
The pair met in a cafe in New York after Watson gave Slaghekke his phone number on a napkin after chasing her down the street.
Watson led the Bombers for five seasons before he was caught up in one of the AFL’s most high-profile drug scandals.
In 2016, the star midfielder was one of 34 players suspended after it was revealed they had taken the banned substance AOD-9604 during the 2012 season.
Watson was subsequently suspended from the 2016 season along with several teammates and was forced to return his 2012 Brownlow Medal. The award was retrospectively given to Hawthorn’s Sam Mitchell and Richmond’s Trent Cotchin.
Asked whether he still felt as though he deserved the accolade, Watson replied: “I feel like I am”.
“Whether or not someone else has it, or whether or not someone else views it that I wasn’t the deserved winner then that is fine,” he told Fox Footy last year.
“But it doesn’t change how I felt or how I feel about it.
“If I felt I had cheated, then I wouldn’t have accepted the medal in the first place.
